Job Title: Accounts & Finance Consultant
Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Accounts & Finance Consultant with strong expertise in financial data migration during mergers & acquisitions, Fixed Assets Register (FAR) transition, and IFRS 16 lease accounting implementation and validation.
The consultant will play a critical role in ensuring accurate migration of accounting data, harmonization of chart of accounts, compliance with IFRS standards (with special focus on IFRS 16), and seamless integration into the target ERP system.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounts Data Migration (Merger / Acquisition Context)
- Lead financial data migration strategy during merger or system consolidation.
- Review legacy accounting structures and map to new Chart of Accounts.
- Validate trial balances, open items, GL balances, and sub-ledger reconciliation.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of migrated:
- General Ledger data
- Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Accruals & Provisions
- Intercompany balances
- Coordinate with IT and ERP teams for migration scripts and UAT validation.
- Conduct reconciliation between legacy and new systems post-migration.
- Prepare migration sign-off documentation.
2. Fixed Assets Register (FAR) Migration & Validation
- Review and cleanse legacy Fixed Assets Register.
- Ensure:
- Correct asset categorisation
- Asset componentization (if applicable)
- Reconcile:
- FAR to General Ledger
- Accumulated depreciation balances
- Ensure compliance with IFRS.
3. IFRS 16 – Lease Accounting (Core Focus Area)
- Lead IFRS 16 transition or post-merger alignment.
- Identify and assess lease contracts (embedded leases included).
- Validate lease classification and scope applicability.
- Ensure accurate calculation of:
- Right-of-Use (ROU) assets
- Lease liabilities
- Discount rates (IBR assessment support)
- Lease modifications and reassessments
- Review lease data migration into lease accounting module.
- Recalculate and validate:
- Lease amortization schedules
- Interest unwinding
- Re-measurements
- Ensure:
- Proper disclosures
- Separation of lease and non-lease components
- Alignment with group accounting policies
- Support audit queries related to IFRS 16 during and after migration.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Chartered Accountant (CA) / CPA / ACCA or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in Accounts & Finance.
- Proven experience in:
- Financial data migration during merger/integration
- Fixed Assets Register reconciliation
- IFRS 16 implementation or review
- Strong working knowledge/experience of ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Microsoft Dynamics or equivalent).
- Advanced Excel skills (financial modelling, reconciliations, large dataset handling).
- Experience in multi-entity / multinational environments (Especially KSA).
- Hands-on experience with lease accounting.
- Exposure to carve-outs or business integrations.
- Audit firm experience (Big 4 preferred).
