Accounts Payable Manager

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION

Performs accounts payable functions for Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Inc. and MSLCC Foundation.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for the Accounts Payable function of MSLCC which includes:
    • Maintain up-to-date vendor contact information and obtain completed W-9 form.
    • Responsible to verify accuracy of invoices and obtain needed approvals before payment is made.
    • Accurately input invoices and credit memos into the accounts payable system.
    • Process payments to vendors, following the payment terms of each vendor and taking advantage of all early payment discounts.
    • Cross-check vendor account statements with unpaid vendor invoice totals for our vendors to maintain an accurate accounts payable balance.
    • File invoices by vendor after payment has been processed.
  • Understand the timing of when vendor rebates are processed and code accordingly.
  • Assist department directors with invoices and any questions regarding the accounts payable process and how their expenses are coded.
  • Prepare monthly General Journal entry for Supply Requisitions.
  • Maintain petty cash funds for: Accounts Payable, Care Center Business Office, Assisted Living Business Office and Nursing Services.
  • Will assist the Resident Account Manager with Medicare consolidated billing services from: therapy providers, pharmacies, clinics and hospitals.
  • Review month-end and year-end reports for accuracy of account coding and deletion of inactive accounts/vendors.
  • Assist the VP/CFO and Finance Director with preparation of schedules and documents for year-end audit
  • Must have visual acuity sufficient for close paperwork and frequently viewing computer monitor. Ability to distinguish colors.
  • Must have hearing acuity sufficient for effective communication in person and by phone.
  • Must be able to work in a sedentary position, exerting up to 10 pounds occasionally for lifting or moving objects. Must be able to be in a sedentary position (sitting with intermittent times of getting up and down throughout an 8 hour shift); standing and walking occasionally.
  • Responsible to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication with facility staff, residents and visitors in carrying out the duties of the position.
  • Responsible to demonstrate organizational skills, with attention to details.
  • Must be proficient in typing, keyboarding, spelling and proofing of their work, as well as the work of others.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned by the President / CEO, VP/CFO, and Finance Director.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Attend in-service and departmental meetings.
  • Participate in MSLCC’s Quality Assurance & Improvement Program as assigned.
  • Will be responsible to be aware of the Volunteer Protection Program (VPP) and Risk Management/Safety Program and will adhere to the established policies and procedures within the Business department and facility wide with regards to job performance and safe operating procedures.
  • Must respect and uphold resident rights in all regards, including confidentiality of resident’s personal, financial and health information.
  • Demonstrates MSLCC’s customer service standards of excellence.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess an Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related program and have three years of Accounts Payable experience. In lieu of an Associate’s Degree, up to two years of directly related experience may be substituted.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Successfully pass a drug test, background check, including criminal history, certification registries, and employment history
  • Completion of training as required by Missouri Slope
