Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in San Francisco, California. In this long-term contract position, you will play a critical role in managing payables, ensuring accuracy in coding and processing, and supporting financial operations in a highly detail-oriented environment. This is a hybrid role, requiring four days onsite and one day remote each week.

Responsibilities:
• Process invoices, checks, and wires efficiently and accurately on a weekly basis.
• Manage coding of invoices and transactions, ensuring compliance with government contract requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers to maintain vendor relationships and oversee proper coding practices.
• Handle accruals and assist with monthly credit card reconciliations and expense reports.
• Utilize Concur and other systems to streamline processes, while identifying areas for improvement.
• Conduct precise follow-ups on invoices and coding discrepancies to prevent errors.
• Generate reports and perform data analysis using Excel tools such as pivot tables.
• Support the implementation of new software solutions to optimize accounts payable operations.
• Work closely with the accounting team to meet deadlines and organizational goals.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and policies to maintain financial accuracy.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable or related financial roles.
• Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and data analysis.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and processing transactions.
• Familiarity with Concur or similar expense management systems.
• Knowledge of ACH payments and check processing workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to manage vendor relationships and resolve discrepancies.
• Experience working in a detail-oriented environment with government contracts preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
