Accounts Payable Specialist

Accounts Payable position in Troy, Michigan. This is an entry level position as the right candidate will have to learn and be trained on everything. We are a group of four companies each having slightly different requirements. You would learn the data entry part of the job first, then progress to properly setting up and vetting vendors, establishing credit terms, then managing, scheduling and processing payments to both domestic and international suppliers. This involves learning to process different kinds of payments from physical checks to ACH’s and international wire transfers.

It is my hope that this candidate will ultimately have the ability to learn/cross-train on the other functions in the accounting department such as Accounts Receivable or even purchasing, receiving or inventory management, payroll and HR. This gives the right candidate significant potential for growth both personally and professionally and even the potential to move into management at some point.

The right candidate will be sharp, intelligent and well organized with a good work ethic and a personality that allows them to work well with others in a team. Good keyboard and typing skills will be helpful as well as familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word applications.
