Responsibilities
Kforce has a client that is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist in Washington, DC. Key Tasks:

Handles and resolves vendor inquiries by communicating with department heads and vendors regarding unpaid or pending items; Follows up and responds to all concerns in a timely manner, including issues related to check approvals

Prepares vouchers; Codes, verifies, and properly documents invoices; Reviews transactions for accuracy and consistency; Schedules and prepares disbursements; And handles the mailing of accounts payable vendor checks and processing of ACH

Verifies accounts by reconciling statements and transactions, including receiving reports; Prepare detailed analyses of recurring and complex invoices (e.g., telecommunications, credit cards, supplies, shipping) for appropriate departmental and general ledger account allocation

Participates in the preparation of documentation for year-end audits, including verification letters, cancelled checks, hard-copy checks, and supporting documentation for fixed assets and accounts payable balance testing

Coordinates and prepares payments for special project grants in collaboration with committee chairs

Coordinates with department heads to ensure timely processing of vendor invoices involving credit cards
Requirements

NetSuite or Oracle experience (both ideal)

Comfortable working with high volume

Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP's and Pivot Tables)

Someone who comes with a solution when they don't know something and put some thought into it first
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
