Accounts/Finance Expert (UK Clients – ACCA Qualified)

We are looking for a fully qualified ACCA Accountant with strong experience in handling UK-based clients. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6+ years of accounting experience and must be confident in managing end-to-end accounting, tax, VAT, and reporting independently.

This is a remote role suited for professionals who are detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working on multiple client accounts.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting for UK clients (bookkeeping, reconciliations, reporting)
• Prepare financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
• Perform month-end and year-end closing
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and personal tax returns in compliance with UK regulations
• Handle payroll processing and ensure HMRC compliance
• Reconcile cash flow with P&L and identify discrepancies
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial models
• Analyse financial data and provide actionable insights
• Create advanced reports in Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, dashboards)
• Work with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage
• Reconcile accounting records with client/customer data
• Communicate directly with clients in a professional manner
• Manage multiple clients and deadlines independently

Requirements

• ACCA Qualified (Mandatory) (ACA / CIMA may be considered with strong experience)
• Minimum 6+ years of accounting experience
• Proven experience working with UK-based clients
• Strong knowledge of:
• UK accounting standards
• VAT & tax compliance
• Payroll processing
• Experience with:
• Financial reporting & reconciliations
• Month-end / year-end closing
• Budgeting & forecasting

Technical Skills

• Advanced MS Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas, financial models)
• Ability to analyse large datasets and generate reports
• Strong experience with cloud accounting tools (QuickBooks, Xero, Sage)
• Experience handling multiple accounting systems and data migration is a plus
