As a Community Support Specialist, you’ll deliver personalized, evidence-based mental health services, connect individuals with vital community resources, and foster a support network that promotes growth, stability, and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide community-based mental health services to children, adolescents, and/or adults

  • Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and implement evidence-based interventions

  • Collaborate with clients, families, and stakeholders to support individualized care

  • Apply strengths-based approaches and practices such as Motivational Interviewing, CBT, DBT, and Trauma-Informed Care

  • Facilitate behavioral interventions and group sessions aligned with treatment goals

  • Coordinate care with schools, service providers, and community organizations

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation

  • Participate in ongoing training and quality improvement initiatives

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders including parents, teachers, and counselors

  • [ACT/ACT TAY/IMPART Only] Demonstrate knowledge of the ACT model and services

Education and/or Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Psychology, Social Work, or related human services field

  • Bachelor’s in unrelated field + 2 years of related experience

  • Four-year combination of higher education + 2 years of related experience

  • Associate’s of Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support

  • Four years of qualifying experience*

  • Qualifying experience includes direct service delivery to individuals with mental health, substance use, or developmental disabilities, including rehabilitation, coping skills training, employment support, and community integration.

Additional Qualifications

  • Knowledge of case management and rehabilitation methods

  • Familiarity with community resources and legal procedures

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to multitask and coordinate services effectively

  • Self-motivated and responsive to supervision

  • Skilled in building relationships with youth and families
