Job Summary

Mountain West Recovery is seeking a Behavioral/Addiction Clinician to join our dedicated team. This role is responsible for conducting biopsychosocial (BPS) assessments upon intake, determining the appropriate level of care using ASAM guidelines, developing and updating individualized treatment plans, facilitating intensive outpatient (IOP) groups, and ensuring accurate and timely documentation of client progress.

As a Behavioral/Addiction Clinician, you will play a critical role in providing emotional support, guidance, and therapeutic interventions to individuals experiencing substance use and mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct BPS assessments at intake to determine the appropriate level of care using ASAM criteria.
  • Develop and update individualized treatment plans based on client needs.
  • Complete admission assessments, screening tools, ASAM assessments, and treatment plans within 24 hours of client intake.
  • Complete prior authorizations for Colorado Access for clients approved or assigned to IOP.
  • Facilitate evening IOP group therapy sessions for residents.
  • Document IOP group session notes in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, clinical teams, and housing teams to ensure continuity of care.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing and evidence-based psychotherapy techniques to support client recovery.
  • Provide one-on-one emotional support, group therapy, and engage in community outreach programs.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with community organizations and mental health professionals.
  • Participate in data collection and analysis to identify trends and areas for program improvement.
  • Apply behavioral analysis principles to develop and implement effective client treatment plans.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

  • Accepted Licensures include Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS), License Professional Counselor (LPC), License Associate Counselor (LAC),Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC), Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate (MFTC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), Licensed Certified Social Worker - Clinical (LCSW), Licensed Social Worker (LSW) licensed through the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field required.
  • Experience in mental health, addiction recovery, or related fields preferred.
  • Strong understanding of patient care principles, behavioral health treatment, and ASAM criteria.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and ICD-9 coding.
  • Experience with client assessment, data collection, and treatment planning.
  • Proficiency in motivational interviewing and psychotherapy techniques.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and a commitment to culturally sensitive care.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality and professional integrity.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
