About the role

The Administration and Project Support Officer is responsible for coordinating and undertaking a range of confidential administrative functions and services to support the efficient operations of the Directorate, including providing high level support to the Director.

This role provides a responsive and professional point of contact for day-to-day enquiries and delivers a range of project and administrative services to support the Directorate and the Director. Key responsibilities include diary and email management, oversight of file structure and workflow processes, and the preparation of correspondence, briefings, and operational documentation.

The role also supports the timely delivery of work aligned with the requirements of the Board, Board Committees, Executive Committee, and external agencies. Additionally, the position contributes to project research and event coordination as needed.

The role also ensures that matters referred to the office are appropriately distributed and actioned and works closely with the Executive Assistant to the Executive Director - Operations to support broader workflow requirements across the Directorate.

Special Conditions

The successful applicant is required to demonstrate having a valid DHS Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to being employed. Applicants who do not hold a WWCC will need to apply at Department of Human Services (DHS).

  • Out of hours work may be required, including intrastate and interstate.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia.
  • Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Development Program.
