Bluff & Associates is a fast-paced law firm with nearly 40 years of experience, with attorneys practicing in Arizona and New Mexico. We operate with a small, highly accountable team and hold high standards for precision, follow-through, and reliability.

This position is based full time in our Albuquerque office and provides direct support to our senior attorney. While the role is in person, we operate as a virtual office. Much of your computer-based work will take place in a dedicated Zoom room where our team collaborates throughout the day to communicate, problem-solve, and stay aligned.

In a small firm environment, ownership and consistency matter. This role requires comfort being on camera for much of the workday.

The Role

We are seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant who is reliable, detail-oriented, and interested in building skills in the legal field. This is an active role suited for someone who works proactively, adapts quickly to changing priorities, and handles pressure well.

You will support daily office operations and work closely with the senior attorney to keep the firm organized and on schedule. The role offers hands-on exposure to legal filings, case preparation, and trial support, with clear opportunities for skill development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage calendars, email communications, scheduling, and critical deadlines
  • Assist with filings, document preparation, and other deadline-driven tasks
  • Organize and maintain client files and case materials
  • Provide administrative and personal support to the senior attorney
  • Anticipate needs and follow through independently
  • Scan, upload, and manage documents
  • Keep daily office operations running smoothly
  • Answer and route phone calls professionally
  • Handle mail, errands, and office supply ordering

Qualifications

  • Reliable with consistent attendance
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Proactive mindset with strong follow-through
  • Discretion with confidential client information
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • Administrative experience required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Comfortable working with strong personalities
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Google Workspace, or legal billing software preferred
  • Clean criminal background check required

Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting wage: $21 per hour
  • Opportunity to increase up to $25 per hour after 90 days based on performance and responsibilities
  • 3% employer contribution to a retirement plan for full-time employees
  • One week of paid vacation after six months of full-time employment
  • One week of paid sick time after six months of full-time employment
  • Overtime and weekend hours available

Work Schedule

  • Monday through Friday
  • 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM

Education and Experience

  • Associate degree preferred
  • Administrative experience: 5 years required
