The Greater Cleveland RTA is searching for an Executive Assistant.


Detailed Description

Duties: Provides administrative support in Executive Department. Organizes and prepares information for internal and external distribution; develops, coordinates, administers and maintains department records, and other related information; serves as information liaison between department and internal/external customers; attendees meetings and prepares minutes and action registers; serves as liaison and scheduler for department meetings, applicable appointments, and other department related activities; performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required.


Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements: Applicant must have a high school diploma or its GED. Applicants must have two (2) years of clerical experience performing duties such as typing, filing, answering phones and other related clerical tasks, including word processing and database experience. Applicants must have one (1) year of general administrative experience including compiling and maintaining records, tracking and making available a variety of information, monitoring and maintaining office inventories, revising correspondence for distribution, organizing meetings and other related administrative duties. Applicants must also type 50 wpm and have Intermediate Power Point skills. Applicants must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Successful candidates will be expected to pass a background check and post-offer physical that is job related and consistent with business necessity.

Environmental Conditions

This person will work predominantly in an office type environment.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for up to 8 or more hours a day. The employee is frequently required to see, hear and speak. The employee may be required to work at a computer video display terminal for more than 5 hours a day.

Mental Demands

Reading, studying focused listening, auditing, inspecting, proofreading, and evaluating. Ability to give, receive and analyze information and prepare written materials. Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures, and data

Selection Process

This is a non-bargaining exempt position. Merit system rules do not apply. No Eligible list will be established. The selection process will include one or more components to demonstrate applicants’ knowledge, skills and abilities in job related areas. These may include exercises such as practical demonstrations, written communications, oral interviews and/or competency assessments.
