  • Responds to incoming telephone calls and in-person requests from the public, County employees, attorneys, and staff members, provides assistance and/or directs to the appropriate person.
  • Prepares and maintains legal documents, files, and legal research items including docket preparation.
  • Prepares legal paperwork for court proceedings; takes statements of victims when assigned; Inputs cases and related data to computer and prepares reports from same data; Monitors database information system.
  • Serves as Notary Public.
  • Assists and instructs other employees with their duties; assigns, plans and reviews work of others;
  • Provides direct assistance to crime victims on telephone, in person and by mail; processes outgoing and incoming Victim Impact Statements and Crime Loss Forms.
  • Maintains calendaring system for court notification and mails out the notifications.
  • Assists prosecutors in meetings with victims and witnesses. Make travel arrangements for witnesses and processes Witness Fee Claim Forms; assists victims with Crime Victims Compensation applications and claims.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • 3 years job related experience .
  • Strong computer and typing skills (minimum 40 wpm); Must have knowledge of Word and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with other employees and the public.

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $18.31 - $22.89 hourly based on qualifications

CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position
