Contract- 10 Months

Part Time- 20hrs/week.

Position Overview

Southern Company is seeking a professional Elevate Program Host to support delivery of the Elevate system-wide leadership development program.

This role serves as the operational host for instructor-led Elevate classes, ensuring a consistent, safe, and inclusive virtual learning experience for participants across Southern Company.

The Host is responsible for:

  • Opening and closing sessions using approved scripts

  • Managing attendance and session logistics

  • Supporting instructors and participants

  • Reinforcing Southern Company values throughout the learning experience

This position is ideal for candidates with experience in training coordination, virtual meeting production, learning & development support, HR coordination, or administrative support roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Host assigned Elevate classes delivered virtually

  • Remain present and engaged for the full duration of each assigned session

  • Join sessions 15–30 minutes early to prepare logistics and connect with instructors

  • Deliver required opening and closing remarks, including:

    • Welcome and Separation Protocol

    • Safety Moment

    • Intentional Inclusion Moment

  • Introduce instructors and ensure smooth session transitions

  • Track attendance and follow up with no-shows as needed

  • Submit completed attendance documentation within 24 hours

  • Serve as primary point of contact for instructors and participants during sessions

  • Provide chat support and assist with virtual session logistics

  • Coordinate collection and monthly distribution of participant post-session survey data

  • Share survey links or QR codes and complete required Host feedback surveys

  • Provide timely and actionable feedback on course content and facilitator delivery

  • Manage start/end session recordings (for designated courses) in alignment with Elevate guidelines

  • Perform other related administrative support activities

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong verbal communication and professional presence

  • Ability to confidently deliver scripted content

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and virtual meeting platforms

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a positive participant experience

  • Strong commitment to confidentiality and compliance with separation protocols

Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in roles such as:

    • Training Coordinator

    • Virtual Meeting Producer

    • Learning & Development Support

    • HR Coordinator

    • Administrative Support

    • Experience hosting or producing virtual sessions (Teams, Zoom, etc.)

  • Experience supporting training sessions, meetings, or facilitated events

  • Availability to host multiple sessions throughout the year

  • Reliable technology and high-speed internet access for virtual sessions

Education

  • Some college, Associate degree, or Bachelor’s degree preferred (not required)

  • Equivalent experience in training support or administrative roles will be considered
