Administrative Clerk

GFS Group; Camp Lejeune, NC is seeking a highly organized, hardworking and self-motivated Administrative Clerk to keep the office running smoothly. The ideal candidate will report to multiple managers with minimal direct supervision while maintaining several aspects, schedules and calendars for several departments. Therefore, he or she needs to have superb time management and organization skills.

The candidate will be comfortable with general office operations, including electronic correspondence, filing, typing reports and distributing mail. Our Administrative Clerk is one of the first faces of our organization and therefore should have good people and communication skills in order to best work with our clients. collect, compile and enter data using appropriate software:

  • calculate and post payroll vacation, sick, holiday etc.
  • audit payroll by established deadlines
  • reconcile employee deductions
  • investigate and correct payroll discrepancies and errors
  • prepare and print payroll reports of earnings, hours worked, taxes, insurance, leave
  • address employee's pay-related concerns and provide accurate payroll information
  • assist with completing requests for pay-related documents including statements and verifications
  • develop, manage and maintain comprehensive payroll records
  • ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines
  • ensure PTO balances by payroll
  • Sorting and distributing incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail
  • Answering the phone to take messages or redirecting calls to appropriate colleagues
  • Ability to use computer software applications including, but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Power-Point, databases and e-mail.
  • Possess excellent organizational and file management skills and the ability to plan and execute administrative work with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to maintain sensitive files and documents and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Possess excellent typing abilities and the skill to prepare documents accurately with minimal errors.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and to maintain a calm and consistent demeanor at all times.
  • Ability to professionally interact with customers, colleagues; and to foster positive business relationships.
  • Ability to learn job-related material primarily through oral instruction and observation or through on-the-job training.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.42 - $20.00 per hour
