Administrative School Assistant

Who We Are Looking For:

Are you the Administrative School Assistant we have been looking for? In this position you will be able to convey your passion for helping others by working with our youth!

Granite Academy is a therapeutic day school serving students in middle and high school, providing educational and clinical services. Our program serves a diverse student population with social/emotional disabilities and/or other challenges that impact learning. We have a school year of 202 days and are located on a beautiful campus in Braintree, MA (not within walking distance from T-station). The ideal candidate is friendly, flexible, and enjoys working with kids. Candidates do not need specialized skills in specific academic subject areas.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:15 AM - 3:15 PM


Compensation

The pay range for this position is $19.00 to $33.00 per hour. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide administrative support to all staff and maintain positive communication with the Head of School and Administrative Team.
  • Serve as a human resources liaison and collaborate with hiring managers in onboarding new staff.
  • Support DESE regulation with Administrative team.
  • Support Licensure for Board Of Health.
  • Supporting hiring managers throughout the hiring process.
  • Prepare offer letters, enroll new employees in JRI’s benefits.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to include running all background checks and providing HR Orientation including coordination of audits.
  • Ensure all HR documentation is organized, up-to-date; including documentation on benefits, worker’s compensation, FMLA, references, I-9.
  • Responsible for maintaining student files.
  • Provide support to the Division in accessing JRI’s human resource systems including payroll/UKG, Company Mileage, Worker’s Compensation Claim processing, Benefits, Staff Training Compliance and enrollments.
  • Safeguard the privacy and confidentiality of employee information in accordance with all relevant regulations.

Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred but not required.
  • SHRM Certification a plus.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • 3 – 5 years prior human resource, office management and/or administrative experience.
  • Excellent computer skills using a variety of applications and programs along with the ability to quickly learn additional tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Maintain valid driver’s license.
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.
