Administrative Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and dependable Administrative Specialist to support the day-to-day administrative operations of Miller Timber Services. This role is essential to ensuring smoother internal workflows and effective coordination across departments. The Administrative Specialist will work closely with support staff and field operations to maintain accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in all administrative functions.

The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where accuracy and follow-through are essential. This role reports to the Administrative and Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Office Support:

  • Manage and maintain inventory of office supplies.
  • Answer phones for all businesses under Miller Timber Services umbrella.

Operations & Field Support:

  • Assist with coordination and scheduling for company events.
  • Support field supervisors and office staff with administrative needs to help meet operational goals.

General Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain organized filing systems, both physical and digital.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, proposals and regulatory submissions.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required; additional education in business or office administration is a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a fast-paced administrative or operational support role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with industry-specific systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing demands, and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with timber operations, dispatching, or trucking logistics is a strong advantage.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Primarily office-based with extended computer use.
  • Occasional lifting of office supplies (up to 20 lbs).
  • Standard business hours, with occasional flexibility required to meet field coordination needs.

Drug-Free Workplace Policy:
As a government contractor, we maintain a strict drug-free workplace policy. Pre-employment drug testing is required, and ongoing random drug screening may be conducted, including substances prohibited under federal law (e.g., marijuana).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
