We are looking to expand our team with this role in support of a government client.

The Role:
Avani is hiring an Administrative/Office Automation Clerk to provide essential administrative support for HR programs. This position is a great fit for detail-oriented individuals with strong organizational and communication skills. The role requires 3 days onsite at the office in DC and 2 days remote in a given work week.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and process employee benefits forms (health, life insurance, retirement).
  • Assist with verifying and organizing retirement and beneficiary documentation.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to senior HR specialists, including data entry and file maintenance.
  • Respond to routine employee inquiries and route more complex questions to senior staff.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and track case progress using HR information systems.
  • Support training sessions and employee briefings by preparing materials and scheduling logistics.
  • Contribute to HR projects and process improvements under the guidance of senior staff.

Qualifications:

  • Due to contractual requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration.
  • Past federal work experience and/or Public Trust Clearance or Equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Up to 2 years of office, clerical, or HR support experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable learning HR information systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and follow established procedures.
  • Employment is contingent upon the ability to obtain and maintain a DHS background investigation/security clearance
