Administrator

Berkwood Hedge School seeks a highly organized administrator to join our team. This leadership position requires the ability to oversee and execute a wide range of daily tasks while maintaining a respectful and efficient workplace that serves and supports the entire school. Our team is strong, collegial, and highly collaborative.

DUTIES & TASKS

The Administrator reports directly to the Head of School. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serving as receptionist to visitors, parents, and students
  • Managing internal communications, the school calendar, teacher schedules, and coverage during absences
  • Coordinating maintenance and site services with outside vendors
  • Overseeing office processes, supply purchasing, and file storage
  • Coordinating volunteer efforts and communications
  • Monitoring early morning email for teacher absences and arranging substitutes as needed
  • Managing maintenance and repair crews
  • Occasional evening and weekend attendance is required

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to prioritize and manage simultaneous demands while maintaining a professional, friendly attitude
  • Significant experience with FileMaker Pro, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite (including Google Groups and Zoom)

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years of administrative experience
  • Prior experience in an independent school environment preferred
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This is a full-time, exempt position. Salary is commensurate with experience. Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
