Job Summary:
ACC
is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Quantity Surveying Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position requires a strong background with a main contractor, excellent technical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a challenging and fast-paced environment. Proficiency in French is highly preferred due to the nature of our projects in various African regions.
Key Responsibilities:

Cost Planning & Estimation:
Prepare detailed cost plans, estimates, and bills of quantities for various stages of projects, from conceptual design to tender.

Tender & Procurement:
Assist in the preparation of tender documents, evaluate bids, and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve the best value for money.

Contract Administration:
Administer construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual terms, conditions, and specifications.

Variation & Claim Management:
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate variations and claims, ensuring fair and equitable resolutions.

Financial Reporting & Control:
Monitor project costs against budget, prepare regular financial reports, and implement cost control measures to ensure projects are delivered within allocated funds.

Valuation of Works:
Conduct interim valuations of work in progress and final accounts, ensuring accurate and timely payments.

Risk Management:
Identify potential financial risks and opportunities and contribute to the development of mitigation strategies.

Stakeholder Collaboration:
Liaise effectively with project managers, engineers, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from a recognized university.

4 to 6 years of progressive experience as a Quantity Surveying Engineer, with a significant portion of this experience gained within a main contractor environment.

Excellent knowledge of quantity surveying principles, cost estimation, cost control, and contract administration.

Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, quantity surveying software).

Fluency in French (written and spoken) is highly preferred.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with diverse teams and stakeholders.
