The Admissions Recruiter serves as the primary point of contact for students, families, faculty and staff in the areas of recruitment and admissions and as a conduit to Retention & Educational Planning, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Registrar information and/or Staff. This position requires an outgoing, articulate individual who coordinates outreach activities with secondary schools and community agencies, external program initiatives, and other targeted markets.

Frequent travel is required in this position. Travel to high schools, college fairs, and other recruiting events as well as travel to different CCC locations is required. Travel to SUNY meetings or professional development conferences may be required. Prolonged time sitting/standing working with computers and monitors, ability to walk/move across campus including walking up and down stairs and for travel, ability to lift up to 20 pounds (occasionally may be more), repeated motions may include keyboard typing. Essential Functions

Recruiting (50%) -

• Promote enrollment at the College at events and locations including high schools, college fairs, education fairs, career fairs, and community and business/industry/agency events and festivals.
• Present to large and small groups (on campus, off campus, and remotely via webcasts), tabling, and prospective student and applicant engagement.
• Respond to phone, email, and website inquiry forms received by Admissions and each recruiter
• Meet with prospective students for appointments (remote, phone, and face-to-face on campus)
• Maintain a working knowledge of current College programs and student supports needed for recruitment.
• Utilize best practices and effective strategies in recruiting and onboarding target audiences including the following: direct from high school (including Accelerated College Education - ACE), homeschool, 24+ adult learners, transfer students
• Foster productive communication with influencers including guidance counselors, teachers, and parents
• Maintain up-to-date and organized records utilizing College technology tools and mechanisms
• Submit accurate travel and expense estimates and receipts according to department procedures

• Employ proactive outreach for establishing and maintaining contact with prospective applicants and those with an incomplete application, utilizing available communication tools to ensure completion of the application and increase yield of accepted students.
• Participate in department workflow for follow-up with applicants through the point of their being ready to register, for example, MyCorning account claim, transcript submission, placement test completion, etc.
• Assist with recruitment-related workshops for prospective students i.e. FAFSA completion.
• Link applicants to College specialists and resources, as needed, for example, educational planning, career exploration/counseling, financial aid, academic departments, athletics, etc.

• On Campus Events and Group Visits: planning, organizing, agenda, etc.
• Application Processing: utilizing the student information system (Banner) and other technology tools
• Student Ambassadors: interview, train, schedule, and supervise
• 24+ Adult Learners: help develop messaging, website communication, events, and other initiatives to recruit adult learners, act as contact for SUNY Reconnect

• Participate in Open House and other on-campus recruiting events
• Attend department training
• Attend other unit meetings for information for recruiting as requested or assigned (i.e. academic division meetings)
• Other duties as assigned

• Demonstrated knowledge of or the ability to learn the various Banner screens to monitor student progress through the admissions process and steps to be ready to register
• Technical skills including Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; and Google: Docs, Sheets, Calendar
• Must have reliable transportation for travel
• Must be able to work frequent evenings/weekends, as needed
• Demonstrates commitment to accomplishing work in an ethical, efficient, and cost-effective manner
• Ability to effectively convey information verbally and in writing, demonstrate effective listening skills, and display respect for and openness to other people’s ideas and thoughts

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate degree with two years of direct student services work experience
• Ability to work flexible hours and ability to work occasional weekends/after hours
• Must have valid driver’s license for travel to off-campus locations as required

• Bachelor’s degree, with some work experience in higher education preferred

• Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including, but not limited to relevant experience, education, market demands, and training
