OFFICE OF INSTITUTIONAL ADVANCEMENT
The Institute’s Office of Institutional Advancement (OIA) is a central division focused on Institute-wide donor and prospect engagement. Areas of practice include principal and major gift fundraising, corporate and foundation relations, annual giving and membership programming through the Institute’s Aspen Society, planned giving, trustee engagement, major events, stewardship, research, gift accounting, and advancement communications.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Advancement Coordinator will support the organization’s enterprise-wide individual and organizational fundraisers. In this role, the Coordinator will spend approximately 70% of their time providing support to the Major & Principal Gifts team, with the remaining 30% supporting the Corporate & Foundation Relations team.
The Coordinator will help create materials to prepare and support frontline fundraisers in their identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors, including meeting and event materials, gift agreements, and invoices. The Coordinator will assist in tracking information about donors and prospects in the CRM database. Additionally, the Coordinator will provide some support for donor events and internal meetings.
As the Institute is in the midst of a large-scale fundraising campaign, it is integral that the Advancement Coordinator exhibit strong organizational ability, professionalism, attention to detail, and prioritization skills in a rapidly moving environment.
This role will report to the Senior Manager of Philanthropic Operations, and work directly with the Senior Directors of both Major & Principal Gifts and Corporate & Foundation Relations, gaining exposure to the fundraising cycle for both individuals and organizations. The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $63,000. The expectation is for this role to be based in our Washington, D.C. office, and the person to be in the office in keeping with Institute policy, currently a minimum of two times a week.
