The Advisor, Human Resources, will serve as the primary HR partner for our corporate-based (“Core”) employees. With a foundation as an HR generalist within the construction sector, the ideal candidate combines strong administrative proficiency with excellent interpersonal skills to drive employee engagement, ensure compliance, and support the entire HR lifecycle.

The successful candidate will partner with business leaders, build relationships, and drive process improvements to strengthen HR processes and implement systems that support the success of our employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Human Resources contact for all Core based employees, addressing questions, issues, and provide guidance on HR matters
  • Support the design and delivery of onboarding programs for new core employees to ensure a structured and engaging orientation
  • Accountable for all aspects of the employee lifecycle for core based employees; including onboarding, employee changes, promotions, transfers, and offboarding.
  • Build strong relationships with core leaders and teams.
  • Oversee the implementation of HR policies and procedures for core-based employees and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Address employee relations issues, providing strategic direction and resolution.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, employment laws, and health and safety regulations.
  • Working with the Learning and Development team, support training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
  • Coordinate and manage programs such as service awards, values awards employee recognition, and Performance Development Reviews (PDR).
  • Lead and administer the annual Great Place to Work engagement survey—handling launch, communications, analysis, and action planning.
  • Complete compensation analysis and review for all core-based employees.
  • Administer the annual compensation survey submittal and the annual compensation review process.
  • Completion of company organization charts

Position Requirements:
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • SHRM certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) is an asset.

Experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of HR experience in industrial environments, including both generalist and specialist roles with increasing responsibilities.

Skills and Knowledge
  • Expertise in Employee Relations and Investigations.
  • Knowledge of relevant employment legislation.
  • Skilled in documenting processes and staying current with industry trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Adaptable to changing workplace demands.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Client-oriented with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse clients.
  • Works independently, with strong initiative and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficient at building collaborative relationships and influencing stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including formal presentations.

Working Conditions:
  • This position is office-based and located in The Woodlands, TX office.
  • Travel is required to Lafayette, LA, approximately 1 week per month.

Reporting Relationships:
The Advisor, Human Resources, reports directly to the Director, Human Resources.
