Aluminum Fabricator

The Metal Fabricator is responsible for crafting, assembling, and installing custom metal components and structures used in interior and exterior fit-out projects. This role involves working with various metals to create high-quality finishes that meet design specifications and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Fabrication and Assembly:

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications to fabricate metal components.

Cut, bend, weld, and shape metal pieces using tools such as saws, torches, and welding machines.

Assemble metal structures and ensure accuracy in dimensions and alignment.

Installation:

Collaborate with project teams to install fabricated metal items on-site, including frames, partitions, railings, or decorative elements.

Ensure installations meet safety standards, design specifications, and client expectations.

Material Selection and Preparation:

Select appropriate metals and materials based on project requirements.

Prepare metal surfaces for fabrication and finishing by cleaning, grinding, or polishing.

Quality Control:

Inspect finished products to ensure they meet design specifications and industry standards.

Address and rectify any defects or discrepancies during fabrication or installation.

Equipment Maintenance:

Operate and maintain fabrication tools and machinery in good working condition.

Conduct regular maintenance checks to ensure safety and efficiency.

Safety Compliance:

Follow workplace safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Identify and mitigate risks during fabrication and installation processes

Coordination and Communication:

Work closely with designers, project managers, and other trades to ensure seamless integration of metal components with overall fit-out designs.

Provide input on design feasibility and suggest improvements where necessary.

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Background:

High school diploma or equivalent; certification in welding, metal fabrication, or a related field is an advantage.

Experience:

2-5 years of experience in metal fabrication, preferably in the fit-out or construction industry.

Proven expertise in working with various metals (e.g., steel, aluminum, brass).

Skills:

Proficiency in operating fabrication tools and equipment, such as welding machines, grinders, and plasma cutters.

Strong attention to detail and ability to produce precise, high-quality work.

Good understanding of technical drawings, blueprints, and measurement techniques.

Physical strength and stamina for handling heavy materials and working on-site.

Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Work Environment:

Workshop-based with frequent visits to construction or fit-out sites.

Work may involve exposure to noise, heat, and physical demands.
