Analyst (Grant Administration), Paediatrics & Child Health -MC - (250003GZ)
Introduction:
The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Job Role / Responsibilities:
You will provide comprehensive administrative support in research grant management, including pre-award, award, post-award, and closeout phases. The role involves working closely with Principal Investigators, project managers, finance teams, and other departments to ensure the smooth execution of research projects.
You will be expected to:

handle and track payment requests (PR) and maintain accurate records
-
allocate expenses to relevant projects through field site and PRO ledgers
-
manage RI and FTE charging processes
-
process departmental invoices
-
support grant administration, including preparation, approvals, and follow-ups
-
prepare proposals for new grants and finalize budgets
-
assist in grant acquisition and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
-
review financial reports and prepare financial projections for optimal fund utilization
-
reconcile grant variance reports monthly, quarterly, and annually
-
prepare monthly reports on actual grant utilization
-
issue budget codes for procurement and manage budget realignment
-
monitor sub-recipients and handle cost/no-cost extensions
-
ensure timely submission of financial reports
-
perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:
You should have:
-
graduation or master’s in finance or business administration (preferred)
-
1–2 years of relevant work experience
-
strong accounting and analytical skills
-
knowledge of financial procedures and policies (preferably AKU)
-
excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
proficiency in MS Excel and other computer applications
-
ability to travel to field sites when required
-
ability to work in a team setting.
