Introduction:
The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Job Role / Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to support and supervise administrative functions within the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health. The role involves managing staffing needs, performance management, compliance, contract processing, and coordinating training programs for research staff in collaboration with the HR department. Specific responsibilities include to:

develop personnel requisitions and secure budgetary approvals as per HR policy

plan and conduct audits at field sites to ensure compliance with university and international standards

process hiring of staff on service or consultancy contracts and prepare payment documentation
-
organize and maintain a comprehensive database of research staff
-
conduct needs assessments and execute on-site and off-site training modules for research staff
-
plan and organize performance management for all staff within the division
-
manage conflict resolution, disciplinary issues, and capacity-building initiatives
-
provide recommendations for contract extensions or conclusions with necessary approvals
-
coordinate with finance for budgeting and personnel requisitions
-
perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:
You should have:

Bachelor’s degree
-
one to two years of relevant experience
-
excellent communication and supervisory skills
-
proficiency in Urdu and English (written and verbal)
-
resilience and the ability to work under pressure
-
good negotiation skills
-
strong computer skills, especially MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
-
willingness to travel when required
-
ability to work effectively as part of a team.
