Job Details:
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for keeping accurate and updated scheduled swine counts for buyers and pork plants; scheduling appropriate number of hogs to respective plants to maintain harvest operations; scheduling forward priced contracts; relaying market information between the corporate market desk and the buyers; assisting the buyers with attribute segregations and load scheduling; communicating regularly with each plant’s scale house; keeping up to date on producer supply agreements and pricing; serve as a backup to the Director of Animal Procurement as needed; recording and filing of procurement agreements with Tyson contract management and GIPSA; maintain compliance with USDA regulations; managing Tyson Livestock Supplier Extranet access and daily operations; coordinate and record daily Process Verified Program testing; and any other duties or projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Associate’s degree in animal science or agriculture preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: Previous station buying and/or scale house coordinating experience preferred; prior swine experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Basic/Advanced computer skills; In depth understanding of Hog Tracking System; Microsoft Office, ability to maintain and develop Excel spreadsheets. SQL and Power BI experience helpful.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
