Job Summary:
Ethos Veterinary Health is seeking a Designer to support development of new locations as well as renovations and expansions to existing facilities within our Specialty and Emergency Room Division. This position requires strong design, technical, and communication skills. You will help develop projects and partner directly with internal and external business teams. In this role, you will help to manage the design of world-class facilities, optimizing standards, and overseeing key architectural and design firms. We need someone who can balance diving deep into specific project details while never losing site of broader growth goals. Your work will ultimately help achieve Ethos’ plans to provide high-quality medical care for pets and outstanding experiences for clients.

What You’ll Do:
Project & Production Responsibilities
  • You'll integrate operational and medical requirements into interior and exterior layouts, elevations, and aesthetics for new sites, remodels, and innovation projects.
  • You will assist with capturing the vision of the local teams who will ultimately lead and practice medicine within the sites, facilitate informal and formal space plan reviews, and decide project scopes of work.
  • You will collaborate with partners in cross functional work streams (3rd party architects, Site Developers, Construction, Sourcing/Procurement, Field Operations, Marketing, IT, New Site Openings) to ensure project scope aligns with schedule and budget priorities.
  • You will help coordinate and develop designs across multiple site projects and scopes of work, as well as adhere to schedules, and prioritize workload in an organized manner.
  • Experience and knowledge in Construction Administration to be able to support our internal construction managers as needed depending on project workload.
Prototypes, Specifications, Standards, and Preferred Equipment Support
  • Assist in development and coordination of standard design criteria (e.g. Prototype) to ensure consistent, efficient and successful deployment of new sites, remodels, and special projects.
  • You will help to organize and maintain regular updates to the prototype standards, managing multiple design versions and overall design library. These may include design prototype standards for different functions and specialties, and assorted floorplans for reference and guidance to sites and strategic leaders.
  • You will partner with Design Manger and internal cross functional teams to dig into root causes of design issues or changes in requirements. You’ll be comfortable following up on action items, providing feedback and escalating issues should they arise.
  • Find efficiencies and help create best practices, help to identify process improvements, highlight potential time, or cost savings for project efficiency.
What You’ll Need:
  • Minimum 4+ years of design experience. Previous work with veterinary, human medical, and/or pet-related businesses is preferred.
  • 4 year, accredited degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or similar field.
  • Excellent design and technical skills (e.g. sketches, AutoCAD, 2D and 3D software, Microsoft Office) to aid in the development of design plans, elevations and details.
  • "Get it done" attitude. You will succeed in this role if you are a self-starter who is resourceful, collaborative, and solution oriented.
  • Exceptional communication skills, being available for meetings and video conferencing when needed. Using your ability to employ sound judgment and establish next steps to resolve matters of complexity.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, and responsibly from both your home office and in person, to achieve priorities.
  • A love for design details, adhering to schedules, and meeting budgets
  • Knowledge of Revit/CAD software is required
  • Knowledge of Bluebeam is helpful
  • Knowledge of Procore or similar Construction Administration platforms is helpful
  • Travel may be required as appropriate and able

The base salary range for this full-time position is $70,000-$90,000. Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The Company offers competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision benefits, vacation, sick leave, 401(k), and more depending on location.
