Company Overview (Customizable)
Korolovszky Architecture & Engineering is a leading [industry sector, e.g., design-build, construction, real estate development] firm committed to innovative, sustainable, and high-performance building solutions. We integrate architectural design with structural and building systems engineering to deliver efficient, safe, and aesthetically compelling projects.
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Architectural Engineer to bridge the gap between architectural vision and engineering reality. In this role, you will focus on the technical performance of buildings—including structural integrity, building envelope design, mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) coordination, and material selection—while ensuring compliance with codes, sustainability standards, and constructability.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Technical Development
- Develop detailed construction documents, technical drawings, and specifications for building systems (structural, envelope, and integrated MEP).
- Perform structural analysis and select appropriate materials (steel, concrete, masonry, timber) to meet safety and performance criteria.
- Coordinate architectural design with civil, structural, and MEP engineering disciplines to resolve clashes and optimize space usage.
- Evaluate building envelope systems (walls, roofing, glazing, insulation) for thermal, moisture, and air infiltration control.
Code Compliance & Safety
- Ensure designs comply with local/international building codes (IBC, NEC, energy codes, fire safety, accessibility standards).
- Conduct load calculations, seismic/wind analysis, and life-safety assessments.
- Prepare permit sets and respond to plan check comments from municipal authorities.
Construction Support
- Provide technical support during construction, including site visits, RFI (Request for Information) responses, and submittal reviews.
- Review shop drawings and material samples for conformance with design intent.
- Troubleshoot field issues related to structural or envelope performance.
Sustainability & Performance
- Integrate passive design strategies (daylighting, natural ventilation, solar orientation) to reduce energy demand.
- Collaborate on energy modeling, LEED / Passive House / Net Zero certifications.
- Recommend high-performance materials and building assemblies.
Project Coordination
- Liaise between architects, contractors, owners, and specialty consultants.
- Track project schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables.

- LEED Green Associate / AP a plus.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), and structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, or RISA).
- Working knowledge of energy modeling (e.g., EnergyPlus, IES VE, eQUEST) and envelope simulation (THERM, WUFI).
- Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) and basic MEP coordination.
- Strong grasp of construction materials, methods, and detailing.
Soft Skills
- Analytical problem-solving with attention to precision.
- Effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Experience with historic preservation, high-rise, healthcare, or laboratory building types.
- Knowledge of acoustics, lighting design, or facade engineering.
- Proficiency in Rhino, Grasshopper, or computational design tools.
- Construction field experience (e.g., as field engineer or project engineer).
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
