Architectural Project Manager
Are you ready to take ownership of complex architectural projects and lead talented teams from concept through completion? We’re looking for a seasoned project manager who thrives at the intersection of design excellence, technical precision, and client collaboration. The ideal candidate demonstrates strategic thinking, strong communication, and the ability to guide projects through every phase—delivering creative, high-quality solutions that make an impact.
Among other things, here’s what you’ll be doing:
  • Create and oversee the development of design concepts that align with project goals, budgets, and regulatory requirements while ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Guide project teams through major design decisions and technical challenges, maintaining alignment with project vision and design intent.
  • Lead architectural projects across all phases and project types, ensuring accuracy, coordination, and overall quality of deliverables.
  • Oversee development of contract documents, ensuring constructability, code compliance, and risk mitigation throughout documentation.
  • Manage coordination among internal teams and external consultants to ensure interdisciplinary alignment and successful project delivery.
  • Direct zoning, code, and technical research efforts, integrating findings into design strategies and documentation.
  • Coordinate and oversee reports, project manuals, and specifications, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all phases.
  • Lead permitting processes, oversee responses to plan checks, and maintain strong relationships with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).
  • Manage QA/QC processes across project deliverables, ensuring documentation meets firm standards, constructability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead construction administration services, providing responsive solutions and technical oversight in the field.
  • Oversee preparation of proposals, contracts, and pursuit materials in collaboration with marketing, market leads, and firm leadership.
  • Negotiate client contracts in coordination with project principal.
  • Drive business development efforts through client engagement, relationship management, and strategic positioning.
  • Mentor and coach emerging professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and high performance.
Ideal qualifications we seek in a candidate:
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and Excel.
  • Deep technical and design knowledge across multiple project types, with proficiency in project specifications and documentation standards.
  • Experience managing complex projects from Programming through Construction Administration.
  • Strong understanding of contracts, risk management, and client communication strategies.
  • Proven ability to lead QA/QC processes, permitting oversight, and coordination with AHJs.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Architectural licensure preferred but not required.
The details:
  • This is a full-time position based in our Tacoma office. Some regional travel is necessary.

  • The pay range for this position is $106,250 – $143,750. Where a person is paid in the range depends on multiple factors such as qualifications, tenure, and work performance.
