Area Sales Officer

Karur, India

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Sales Officer to join our team. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and achieving sales targets to drive company growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and target new business opportunities within the agricultural sector, including farmers, cooperatives, and agribusinesses.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs and market trends.

2. Customer Relationship Management

  • Establish and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Provide after-sales support, addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Gather customer feedback to improve products and services.

3. Product Knowledge & Promotion

  • Stay updated on the latest agricultural products, technologies, and industry trends.
  • Educate customers on the benefits and proper usage of products.

4. Sales Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and transactions.
  • Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market conditions to adjust sales strategies accordingly.Jobya

5. Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns.
  • Coordinate with the logistics and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of products.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educational Background: Any Degree
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in sales
  • Skills:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand and address customer needs effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in selling agri-inputs like fertilizers, pesticides, or cattle feed.
  • Familiarity with local agricultural practices and market dynamics.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluency in the local language(s) to effectively communicate with farmers and stakeholders.
