ART DIRECTOR

Locations: Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Portland, St. Louis
Job Type: Contract
Compensation Range: $48 - 52 per hour

We are seeking a high-caliber Art Director to serve as a creative champion for a large portfolio of high-profile events and tradeshows. In this role, you won't just design; you will lead strategic visions and influence innovative thinking to solve complex business challenges through unique, memorable experiences.

The ideal candidate settles for nothing less than excellence, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the experiential space from initial strategy through final execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Creative Leadership: Lead ideation sessions and mentor multi-disciplinary teams (graphic designers, motion designers, videographers, and content strategists) to create cohesive, elevated visual content.
  • Strategic Vision: Influence the development of creative briefs, storyboards, and layouts that advance business objectives across multi-faceted event channels.
  • Stakeholder Management: Articulate and present compelling creative concepts to gain alignment and persuade stakeholders to follow your design direction.
  • Execution & Oversight: Manage multiple event deliverables simultaneously, ensuring award-winning quality while troubleshooting and providing constructive feedback in a fast-paced environment.
  • Innovation: Stay at the forefront of creative technology and digital trends to integrate cutting-edge solutions into event designs.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 8+ years of event-related art direction and design experience, preferably within a matrixed agency or in-house team.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design (or related field) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Technical Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite. Proficient in prototyping tools, Microsoft Copilot, Office, and Teams.
  • Conceptual Depth: Proven ability to lead creative ideation, develop storyboards, and provide high-level constructive critiques.
  • Mentorship: Demonstrated success in coaching creatives in a virtual environment to develop their conceptual and technical skills.
  • Business Acumen: Ability to comprehend complex strategic visions and foster client relationships built on trust and co-development.
