Assistant Accountant

We are a growing, technology-driven accountancy firm providing accounting, tax, payroll, and advisory services to a wide range of UK-based clients. As an ACCA Approved Employer, we are committed to supporting the development of future finance professionals.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for ACCA students, AAT qualified candidates, or accounting graduates who are looking to build a long-term career in practice. You will receive structured training and hands-on experience across key areas of accounting and tax.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bookkeeping and data entry using cloud accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks)
  • Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting with preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Supporting payroll processing and pension submissions
  • Assisting in the preparation of year-end accounts
  • Supporting corporation tax and self-assessment tax return preparation
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and client documentation
  • Communicating with clients to obtain information and resolve queries

Requirements

Essential:

  • ACCA student, AAT qualified, accounting graduate, or equivalent
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Willingness to learn and develop professionally
  • Good communication and organisational skills

Desirable (but Not Required)

  • Basic knowledge of accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
  • Previous internship or relevant work experience
