The Department of Epidemiology and Health Promotion at the New York University College of Dentistry invites applications for a tenure‑track Assistant or Associate Professor position, depending on qualifications.
Responsibilities include securing external funding to lead an independent research program in dental public health and oral epidemiology; teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level; and contributing to departmental, college, and university governance, as well as professional and public service. The primary expectation is excellence in research, including grant acquisition, leadership of funded projects, dissemination at national and international conferences, and publication in peer‑reviewed journals.
The Department of Epidemiology & Health Promotion advances dental public health and oral epidemiology to promote equity and improve oral health locally, nationally, and globally. Faculty conduct research addressing the burden and determinants of oral diseases, applying advanced methods in dental public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, artificial intelligence, and implementation science. The Department includes public health researchers, epidemiologists, biostatisticians, health economists, and clinicians; houses a Master’s program in Clinical Research; and maintains active collaborations with national and international partners.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is Assistant Professor on the tenure track is $125K - $195K, Associate Professor on the tenure track is $150K - $250K. New York University considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience, education and training, key skills, internal peer equity, and market conditions when extending an offer.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in epidemiology, public health, or a related field, or a DrPH. Experience in public health programs is desirable. Candidates with a dental degree (DMD/DDS) and board certification in Dental Public Health will receive preference.
