Assistant Buyer

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Buyer to join our dynamic purchasing team. The ideal candidate will support the procurement process by assisting in sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships. This role is crucial in ensuring that inventory levels are maintained efficiently while aligning with the company's supply chain management strategies. The Assistant Buyer will work closely with various departments to optimize purchasing decisions and enhance overall operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• · Analyze production schedules to plan and execute timely component purchases
• Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities across electrical, electronic, and mechanical materials.
• · Interpret complex Bills of Materials (BoMs) and work closely with Engineering to align procurement with design specifications
• · Monitor supplier performance, focusing on quality, reliability, and delivery timelines
• · Manage vendor relationships to resolve warranty claims and negotiate purchasing agreements to support long-term partnerships

Experience

• Proven experience in purchasing or procurement roles is preferred.
• Familiarity with materials management, MRP, supply chain management, logistics, and inventory control is essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems a plus
• Strong negotiation skills with a focus on building effective supplier relationships.
• Knowledge of pricing strategies and production planning processes is beneficial.
• Familiarity with ISO standards or quality systems a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
