Assistant District Attorney

JOB SUMMARY:

The Centre County District Attorney’s Office is looking for a lawyer to join our team. Centre County is home to Penn State University, has a growing economy, good schools and easy access to state parks, trails and lakes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Represent the Centre County District Attorney’s Office in the Court of Common Pleas, Pennsylvania Superior Court, Supreme Court and Federal Court.

· Assist the police in the investigating and charging of criminal cases.

· Advise police on drafting criminal complaints, search warrants, consensual intercepts and court orders.

· Prosecute criminal cases from inception, through trial and subsequent appeals.

· Must possess a sense of fairness that allows for vigorous and just prosecutions. Our lawyers must act with integrity and balanced judgment that increases public safety, both by pursing appropriate criminal charges of appropriate severity and by exercising discretion to not pursue criminal charges in appropriate circumstances.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Juris Doctorate Degree

· Prior trial court level experience preferred

· Recent Grads eligible to sit for the Bar are encouraged to apply

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $35.35 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
