Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Assistant General Manager to join our vibrant hospitality team. Responsibilities
- Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth shift management and high-quality food service delivery
- Lead and motivate staff through effective training, coaching, and development initiatives to enhance performance and customer satisfaction
- Manage inventory control processes, including food handling, ordering, and stock rotation to minimize waste and control costs
- Supervise food preparation, cooking procedures, and ensure adherence to food safety standards and sanitation regulations
- Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation
- Monitor staffing levels, interview candidates, and participate in hiring decisions to build a strong team
- Conduct staff training sessions on food production, customer service excellence, health & safety protocols, and operational procedures
- Oversee kitchen management tasks including food quality assurance, food production schedules, and catering or banquet services when applicable
- Maintain compliance with health department regulations and ensure all team members follow proper food handling practices
- Assist in budgeting activities, cost control measures, and financial reporting to support the restaurant’s profitability goals
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints promptly to ensure an outstanding dining experience
- Support management in implementing marketing initiatives or special events to boost business growth
Requirements
- Proven experience in restaurant management or supervisory roles within the food industry; prior assistant manager experience preferred
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management with fine dining or casual dining experience advantageous
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Hotel Key for sales transactions and inventory tracking
- Demonstrated skills in staff training & development, team management, and leadership within hospitality settings
- Knowledge of food safety standards, health regulations, and sanitation practices essential for maintaining compliance
- Experience with inventory control, budgeting, cost analysis, and food production planning
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills for interviewing candidates and coordinating with team members at all levels
- Hospitality management background with experience in shift management across various service formats including bar or catering services is desirable
- A proactive attitude with a passion for culinary excellence and operational efficiency
