Role Summary:

The role involves engaging with patients and their families at the time of hospital discharge to understand their post-hospitalization care needs and guide them on suitable homecare solutions. The Assistant Head Nurse acts as a bridge between the hospital clinical team and Medanta Homecare, ensuring patients receive seamless, high-quality care at home. This is a patient-facing role combining clinical understanding with empathetic communication and sales orientation.


Role & responsibilities

  • Meet patients (and families) at the point of discharge to assess their post-hospitalization care requirements.
  • Explain available Homecare services — including nursing, physiotherapy, medical equipment, remote monitoring, and caregiver support — in a clear, empathetic manner.
  • Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and caregivers to understand each patient’s clinical condition and recovery plan.
  • Recommend appropriate homecare packages tailored to patient needs and recovery timelines.
  • Present service benefits, pricing, and enrolment process to patients/families to facilitate timely sign-ups.
  • Handle patient queries, objections, or concerns with professionalism and compassion.
  • Coordinate with hospital clinical staff and Homecare operations teams for accurate data sharing and smooth service initiation.
  • Complete all required documentation, including enrolment forms, consent papers, and billing details.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, patient confidentiality, and ethical practices.


Preferred candidate profile

  • Qualification: B.Sc. Nursing / GNM / Paramedical background preferred.
  • Experience: 3–8 years in Nursing, Paramedics, or patient care roles; prior exposure to healthcare sales, discharge planning, or homecare services is an advantage.
  • Strong communication, counseling, and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathetic yet persuasive approach while engaging with patients and families.
  • Willingness to work in a hospital-based business development role.
  • Comfortable coordinating across clinical and operational teams.
