Job Role / Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for the smooth operation of HT and LT network within all Outreach facilities. specially looking in the delivery of planned, reactive, regular and emergency maintenance and support activities in terms of agreed response times or planned schedules of Outreach facilities of AKU including Phlebotomy centers, Stat Labs, Medical Centre, Pharmacy Secondary Hospitals, Karimabad IED, GILGIT & Chitral facilities, Clifton Medical Services, Call Centre, and Pead’s offices. This also includes the operation and maintenance with coordination of local Electricity provider network team. Manage and coordinates the safe and efficient repairs and maintenance of all necessary building Electrical and instrumentation systems for all Outreach facilities ensuring compliance with university policies and standards. Supervise and coordinates the activities of technical staff, as appropriate to the needs.

Other responsibilities will include:

• To communicate with staff at all levels including subordinates, consultants, contractors, clinical / health care staff and other stakeholders for an efficient delivery of maintenance work.
• Manage and coordinates the safe and efficient repairs and maintenance of all outreach facilities & ensuring compliance with university policies and standards.
• Perform & supervise Inspections of all the maintenance tasks/program to ensure uninterrupted operation of the electrical, achieving flexibility, safe working practice must be supported throughout all Outreach facilities, along with the appropriate documentation.
• Technical Appraisal of New Equipment
• Coordinating all the assigned tasks that the maintenance team, outside contractors, and other stakeholders are jointly involved.
• Maintain compliance with JCIA,ISO 9001, ISO 2015 & SafeCare standards and regulatory
• Actively contribute, both personally and through subordinate staff in supplying high quality delivered services related to Engineering / Maintenance activities for the upkeep of all AKU outreach facilities.
• Preparation of Maintenance work programs (PPM, etc) and communicating with all relevant stakeholders of the planned work.
• Prepare cost estimates for the activities and monitoring and controlling of cost to complete works within budget.
• Knowledgeable about elevator maintenance, operation, and handling issues with related/associated equipment’s.
• Develop smart annual operational goals of the department in view of the overall strategic goals of the division including the resources needed to execute the plan.
• Manage the financial obligations associated with Outreach maintenance projects, as well as develop and oversee Outreach expenses for the designated regions.
• Must ensure proper Punch listing of ongoing Outreach facilities tasks.
• Preparation of Technical & Financial comparative statements in accord of the compliance of outsourcing policy
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement form (CQI)
• Coordination for capacity building activities for outreach staff and provide timely feedback for team efficiency.
• Orientation of new employees and continuing education of department employees in the repair maintenance of all equipment (Electrical Related). Safety practices should be ensured & Instruct personnel regarding hazards and safety to make sure safe procedures and harmless use of equipment.
• Effective inventory management of spares and consumables
• To assist Senior Manager C&G& Outreach in budget & planning process and regular monitoring of expenses.
• Safety practices should be ensured.
• Monthly report to Senior Manager, C&G & Outreach Maintenance regarding condition of all outreach facilities and status of work in progress.
• Respond to all emergency situations and take appropriate action utilizing established procedures and protocols.

Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:

• B.E. Electrical from Govt. recognized institute.
• 7-10 years’ experience related to specified duties & responsibilities.
• Excellent knowledge of Electrical Maintenance/projects, HT/ LT distribution system knowledge shall be considered as additional.
• Proficient in computer knowledge.
• Effective communication skills in English.
• Ability to supervise & train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, & scheduling work assignments.
• Ability to cope with stress.
• Team leadership qualities to independently lead a multidiscipline technical team’s.
• Ability to take initiative & to analyze and solve problems.
• Ability to develop & maintain record keeping systems and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
