Job Summary/Purpose:
Perform financial processes, secure accurate accounting and financial records, produce and analyze financial statements in order to advise on business performance and areas of improvement.
Responsibilities:
Operational:
- Prepare periodically financials, analyze various management reports for compliance to policies and submit observations to Manager Finance.
- Plan and forecast sales, inventory levels, optimal fleet size and other business parameters.
- Review business processes for efficiency, reliability and propose automation and improvements.
- Respond to routine queries on business transactions from internal and external auditors and provide appropriate explanation and justification.
- Analyze internal audit reports and submit the observation to Manager Finance for review.
- Check inventory costing and payment vouchers for accuracy and supporting evidence.
- Prepare the plan in order to organize yearly stock count based on company policies.
- Prepare cash flow statements for forecasting funds requirements and timely availability of funds.
- Review customer receivables and other receivables and follow up with Manager Credit for settlement of company dues.
- Prepare pricing of inventory and submit it for review to the Manager Finance.
- Review documentation for LCs/LGs to assist functional managers in negotiation with customers.
- Check discrepancies in application of policies by functional managers and report to Manager Finance for action.
- Assist business heads with business performance review and reports preparation for monthly review with senior managers.
- Assist business heads with preparation and presentation of annual budgets.
People Management:
- Assign goals and objectives to staff and monitor achievement of team objectives/key performance indicators (KPIs) and counsel employees on achievement of targets and KPIs.
- Prepare performance planning (PP) and conduct performance appraisal (PA) and conduct PP/PA interviews including employee development plans and counsel employees on career progression opportunities.
- Make requisite attempts to handle all grievances raised by subordinates in a prompt and effective manner and escalate such matters to higher level when required.
- Recommend disciplinary action.
- Participate in interview panels for selection and promotion of staff.
Minimum Requirements:
- Educational Qualifications and Experience: Post Graduate Diploma in Finance with 3 years experience or Bachelor Degree with 6 years of experience.
- Linguistic Abilities: English is a must. Arabic is an asset.
- Certification and Licensure: CFA / ICWA/ CIMA/ CA/ CPA/ ACCA (In order of importance)
