Job Purpose


The Assistant Manager Finance – Agri Business serves as the financial business partner, ensuring strong financial planning, analysis, and control across all operations. The role is responsible for driving financial performance, supporting strategic decision-making, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with corporate financial policies. This position bridges operational and strategic finance by providing insights that enhance profitability, cost efficiency, and business sustainability.


Key Responsibilities


Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead preparation of annual business plans, budgets, and periodic forecasts for the Agri Business.
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis between actual performance and budget, highlighting key drivers and corrective actions.
  • Develop financial models to assess business scenarios, pricing, profitability, and investment decisions.
  • Provide analytical insights to support strategic decisions related to production, procurement, pricing, and sales.

Business Partnering

  • Act as a finance partner to the Head of Agri Business, providing timely and data-driven inputs for decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D, Production, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to optimize financial performance.
  • Evaluate financial feasibility of new projects, product lines, or market expansions.

Financial Operations & Control

  • Oversee accounting, reporting, and cost monitoring processes for the Agri Business.
  • Ensure proper cost allocation for production and operational activities.
  • Monitor working capital metrics — including receivables, payables, and inventory — ensuring efficient cash flow management.
  • Enforce internal controls and ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management.
  • Ensure compliance with internal audit, external audit, and corporate governance standards.
  • Support tax, legal, and regulatory requirements related to the Agri Business.

Cost Management & Efficiency

  • Identify cost optimization opportunities in production, logistics, and operational activities.
  • Track and analyze cost of goods sold (COGS), gross margins, and product profitability.
  • Support the implementation of the best financial practices to improve overall business efficiency.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Support automation and digitization initiatives to improve financial reporting and analytics.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of ERP (SAP/Oracle) processes for finance and operations integration.


Education & Experience


Education

  • MBA (Accounting & Finance), ACCA, ACMA, or CA Inter.

Experience

  • 5–8 years of progressive experience in finance, preferably within the agriculture, seed, or FMCG sectors, in a large-scale corporate environment, with demonstrated exposure to business partnering, financial reporting & planning, and analysis


Knowledge Requirements


  • Strong financial analysis and planning skills.
  • In-depth understanding of cost management, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Excellent command of Excel, Power BI, and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Strong business acumen with ability to connect financial metrics to operational outcomes.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Analytical mindset, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem solving
