Assistant Manager - HR

India

Key Responsibilities

1. Talent Acquisition

  • Recruit, interview, and hire intermediate-level staff.
  • Coordinate with hiring managers to understand role requirements.
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment processes including final hiring decisions (in smaller setups).

2. Onboarding & Induction

  • Plan and execute onboarding programs for new hires.
  • Organize induction training, job-specific training, and administrative setup.

3. HR Records Management

  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date maintenance of statutory and organizational HR records.

4. Payroll Administration

  • Collate and verify payroll data submitted by junior HR staff.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing in coordination with finance.

5. Performance Management

  • Manage the performance review cycle including documentation, training, timelines, and result analysis.

6. Learning & Development

  • Plan and manage L&D activities aligned with organizational goals.
  • Monitor training effectiveness and ensure ROI on L&D spend.

7. Compliance & Policy Adherence

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable labor laws.
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of HR regulations and internal procedures.

8. Disciplinary Procedures

  • Lead disciplinary processes and recommend appropriate actions to HR leadership.

9. Coaching & Mentoring

  • Guide and mentor junior HR team members in day-to-day HR operations and professional development.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, labor laws, and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in HRMS tools and MS Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Leadership and team mentoring capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Additional certifications in HR or labor law (preferred).

Experience

  • Minimum 4–6 years of progressive experience in HR operations, recruitment, payroll, and compliance.
