Assistant Manager- HR

The Assistant Manager- HR will play a vital role in the Plant HR department, focusing on manpower planning, employee engagement, and overall talent management. They will ensure a productive and engaged workforce while adhering to statutory obligations and company policies.Varun Beverages Ltd. is seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Manager- HR to join our Plant HR team. In this role, you will be responsible for strategic manpower planning, talent acquisition, and employee engagement initiatives. Your expertise will contribute to the overall success of our factory operations, ensuring a productive and satisfied workforce.

Accountabilities Scope of work


Manpower Planning & Employee Engagement

To plan the manpower requirement at all levels categories of the workforce basis the standard manning norms and ensure availability of required no. of manpower at all times to meet the factory operations requirement. To work out a yearly Employee Engagement plan linked to Factory Business Plan with the alignment of all stakeholders and execute the same effectively.


Contract Labours Management

Ensure periodic review and verification of records of Contractors for compliance. Ensure fulfillment of statutory obligations by contractors e.g. PF, Bonus, ESI, Gratuity, Minimum Wages, Welfare facilities, timely return to Govt. authorities etc. Regular dialogue with Contractors for listening and sorting out their problems, if any, and streamlining the system. To review and monitor contract labour management system.


Productivity & Talent Management:

To continuously work on improving people productivity by promoting multi skill concept and through building skill level of the associates. Recruit, Induct and Build the Talent particularly at workmen & Staff level in line with the requirements of Factory operations. Work on a Training calendar basis the Training needs of the Individuals and execute the same in a systematic way.


Welfare & Corporate Social Responsibility

Take ownership in ensuring the welfare facilities such as Canteen, Restroom, Toilets and other requirements are provided as per the Factories Act, 1948 and maintain well in line with the Company philosophy. Ensure to drive equality in applicability of these facilities among all categories of employees including Contract Labour. To support CSR related initiatives in and around the Factory location in coordination.


Grievance Redressal & Discipline

To ensure that the grievances of the associates are redressed effectively on time by following the grievance redressal guidelines. To maintain discipline within the Factory premises at all levels in accordance with the Company Standing Orders or the relevant Statutory laws.


Manpower Budget, HR routines, Processes & Systems:

To prepare and monitor Factory HR budget involving manpower, welfare and administration costs. To ensure that the Wages & other related payments are made on time. To ensure strict compliance to the HR Transformation, Payroll and Systems guidelines without any deviations


Payroll & MIS

To prepare the monthly payroll system in SAP and preparation monthly HR Management Information System, (MIS) .Ensure fulfillment of statutory obligations e.g. PF, Bonus, ESI, Gratuity, Welfare facilities, timely return to Govt. authorities etc.


  • Plan and manage manpower requirements, ensuring a sufficient and skilled workforce.
  • Develop and execute annual employee engagement plans, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Oversee contract labor management, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and welfare facilities.
  • Improve people productivity by promoting multi-skill development and training programs.
  • Support CSR initiatives and ensure equal access to welfare facilities for all employees.
  • Efficiently redress employee grievances and maintain discipline as per company guidelines.
  • Prepare and monitor the HR budget, including manpower, welfare, and administrative costs.
  • Ensure timely payroll processing and compliance with statutory obligations.
  • Maintain and update HR systems and processes, adhering to HR transformation guidelines.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar HR management role, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and statutory obligations, including PF, Bonus, ESI, and Gratuity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management.
  • Proficiency in SAP for payroll processing and HR MIS reporting.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with HR transformation initiatives is an asset.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to changing HR practices.
