Qualification & Experience:
Essential:
- Master’s/Bachelors in any field of Science, Technology or Engineering from HEC recognized University with 3-4 years of relevant experience.
Desirable:
- LLM in Intellectual Property
Key Responsibilities:
1. IP Drafting & Filing Support
- Assist the Manager IP&LA in drafting and filing IP applications, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and industrial designs.
- Prepare necessary documentation and coordinate with relevant stakeholders for submission and follow-up of applications.
2. Researcher Facilitation & Evaluation
- Support researchers and faculty in evaluating inventions for novelty, utility, and potential for IP protection.
- Facilitate completion of invention disclosure forms and ensure accuracy of technical and ownership details.
3. IP Management & Recordkeeping
- Assist in maintaining an updated database of all NUST IP assets and their filing, prosecution, and renewal statuses.
- Support the implementation of NUST’s internal IP management systems and ensure data accuracy for reporting and audits.
4. Policy Support & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to institutional policies and legal compliance in IP filings, renewals, and collaborations.
- Help address conflicts of interest between inventors under the guidance of the Manager or GM IP&LA.
5. External Coordination & Networking
- Support the establishment and maintenance of national and international linkages with IP organizations such as IPO Pakistan, WIPO, USPTO, and EPO, under the supervision of the Manager and GM-IP.
- Facilitate international IP filings and coordination with external IP agents or patent attorneys as required.
6. Institutional Engagement & Capacity Building
- Assist in planning and organizing IP awareness sessions, training programs, and seminars in coordination with the Manager and GM IP&LA.
- Provide logistical and administrative support during IP related institutional events and collaborative initiatives.
7. Administrative & Miscellaneous Tasks
- Support in preparing reports, data summaries, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Manager or GM-IP in line with NUST’s innovation and commercialization framework.

Candidates may be considered ineligible for the post due to any of the following reasons:
- 3rd Div in academic career / weak academic profile.
- NUST employees with less than one year of service with NUST and / or absence of NOC from Head of Institution.
- In process of pursuing a required degree.
- Only selected candidates will be contacted and issued offer letter.
- Candidates serving in Govt departments, Armed forces may apply through their respective parent department / organizations. Late / incomplete applications will be ignored. Only short-listed candidates will be considered / called for test / interview and no TA / DA will be admissible.
