Assistant Manager IT

Job Summary:
The role of the Assistant IT Manager is to provide support in plan, direct, and coordinate the design, installation, and connectivity of computer systems and network infrastructure to ensure that the Samsons Group network software, web applications and associated systems run smoothly, and perform within agreed targets. This includes developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all new and existing network hardware, software, and communication links.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assistant IT Manager is responsible for all IT systems within UAE Region, including Networks, Hardware, Software, Storage and Security systems.
• Will do the Installation and configuration of the new VMs on DXB data center
• Manages and supervises the installed Firewalls in the systems and oversees the loopholes present in those firewalls either Fortinet, Panda Gate Defender, Sophos or others
• Provides End User support regarding the Attendance of the employees via Attendance Devices and Management portal
• Assist in migrating information assets and environments into compliant, secure systems e.g. PCI Security Compliance.
• Ensures efficient and effective technology and Internet access for a group of users
• Oversees information security and maintain network and user security through hardware or software installation or through education
• Maintain inventory and status of hardware and software throughout located entity.
• To respond rapidly and effectively to IT security incidents, managing them in a professional manner.
• To do regular maintenance checks on all servers, switches, routers and other connectivity devices.

Critical Skills Required

• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Creative problem-solving skills.
• Experience with LANs, WANs, and large environments.
• In-depth knowledge of:
• Network design, setup, and maintenance.
• Firewall configuration and management.
• Microsoft Servers, Hyper-V, Active Directory, DHCP, and DNS Server.
• System monitoring and security compliance tools.
• Storage Area Networks (SANs).
• Exchange and O365 Administration.
• Switch and Firewall hands-on.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or related field

Experience

Minimum of 5 years managing IT teams and Infrastructure.
