Responsibilities

Logistics and Operations Management: Lead the day-to-day operations of the vehicle storage yard. This includes directing vehicle flow, managing the offloading and receiving process, and overseeing the efficient movement of vehicles within the yard and to other locations.

Storage Optimization: Strategically plan and optimize the use of storage space to maximize capacity and accessibility. Develop and implement a systematic zoning plan to ensure vehicles are organized by model, condition, or destination.

Vehicle Maintenance: Establish and enforce a rigorous maintenance schedule for all stored vehicles, ensuring they are kept in condition as per manufacturer recommendations. This includes regular inspections, fluid level checks, managing battery and tires to reduce the cost, and addressing any potential issues to prevent degradation.

Team Leadership: Supervise and train a team of technicians and yard staff. Provide clear direction, foster a culture of safety and accountability, and ensure the team has the necessary tools and training to perform their duties effectively.

Reporting and Documentation: Implement and maintain systems for tracking vehicle inventory, movement logs, and maintenance records. Generate and analyze reports to identify inefficiencies and provide key insights to senior management.
Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field

Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., APICS, CSCP, CPIM, Lean Six Sigma) are an advantage.
Experience

Years of Experience: 5 - 8 Years

Field of Experience: Experience in Warehouse operations within the automotive industry, or similar role.
Skills

Logistics Expertise: Proven experience in logistics management, particularly in a high-volume inventory environment.

Operational Excellence: A track record of optimizing operational processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to proactively identify and resolve operational challenges.

Knowledge of Port and Customs: While not required, knowledge of port operations and customs procedures is a significant advantage. This would enable the candidate to streamline the import process and address any clearance-related issues, creating a seamless transition from the port to the storage yard.

Strong Communication: The ability to communicate effectively with staff, management, and external partners to ensure smooth operations.
