The Assistant Manager – Procurement plays a critical role in supporting the procurement strategy, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and services. This role demands strong negotiation skills, market awareness, and cross-functional coordination to meet production and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Sourcing & Vendor Management

· Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for raw materials, components, and services.

· Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to optimize cost and quality.

· Maintain and update approved vendor lists and supplier performance metrics.

Purchase Operations

· Process purchase requisitions and convert them into purchase orders.

· Track order status and ensure timely delivery to avoid production delays.

· Coordinate with stores and finance for GRN (Goods Receipt Note) and invoice processing.

Cost Optimization & Market Intelligence

· Conduct market research to benchmark prices and identify cost-saving opportunities.

· Analyze spend data and suggest strategic sourcing initiatives.

· Monitor commodity price trends and their impact on procurement budgets.

Compliance & Documentation

· Ensure adherence to company procurement policies and regulatory standards.

· Maintain accurate records of contracts, purchase orders, and supplier communications.

· Support internal and external audits with required documentation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Work closely with production, planning, quality, and finance teams to align procurement with operational needs.

· Resolve supply chain bottlenecks and escalate critical issues to senior management.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business Administration.

· 4–6 years of experience in procurement or sourcing, preferably in manufacturing.

· Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and procurement modules.

· Knowledge of import/export procedures and vendor development is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹60,363.28 - ₹65,779.02 per month
