Assistant Preschool Teacher

Jack & Jill Preschool is seeking a patient, enthusiastic, and motivated individual passionate about early education to join our school community as a Preschool Assistant Teacher. Excellent communication skills and a team mentality are essential. Must have the ability to work well with others and have reliable transportation.

The candidate will support and assist the lead teacher throughout the daily routine to ensure students develop social, emotional, and age-appropriate academic skills. The assistant teacher also helps maintain a welcoming and respectful environment for students, their families, and fellow staff. The Assistant Teacher supports maintaining student records as instructed by the lead teacher and maintains a neat and clean classroom, including shared cleaning/sanitizing duties of play and learning areas, kitchenette space, and bathrooms.
Preschool Assistant Teacher Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with activities and instruction within the daily routine.
• Maintain tidy and safe space, including cleaning and sanitizing toys & classroom.
• Support students with positive interactions and promote independence and problem-solving
• Compliance with all NYS OCFS regulations, safety standards, and
• Provide supervision and support to preschool aged students
• Maintain a welcoming and respectful learning atmosphere for all students and fellow staff

Preschool Assistant Teacher Requirements and Qualifications

• Experience working with young children preferred
• A passion for early childhood education and helping children grow in positive ways
• Excellent communication skills and team mentality
• Professional, caring, and positive role model
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred but not required
