Assistant Production Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Production Manager to join our growing ice cream manufacturing team. In this role, you will support the Production Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations of the production floor, ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining product quality, and meeting safety and hygiene standards.

As part of a dynamic team dedicated to crafting high-quality ice cream, you will play a key role in coordinating production schedules, managing resources, supervising floor staff, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating, and supervising daily ice cream production activities.
• Support in the management of production staff by organizing shift schedules, providing training, and ensuring high team performance.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to streamline operations and minimize downtime.
• Track inventory usage of raw materials and packaging to ensure timely replenishment and avoid production delays.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained and cleaned; escalate any issues to the Maintenance team promptly.
• Implement and support continuous improvement strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Prepare daily production reports and maintain accurate documentation for audits and internal records.

Requirements

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Dairy Technology, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment; prior experience in dairy or frozen desserts is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, and food safety regulations.
• Strong organizational and leadership abilities with experience managing production floor staff.
• Understanding of quality control procedures, inventory management, and equipment maintenance.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to product consistency and quality.
• Basic troubleshooting knowledge of machinery and refrigeration systems used in frozen product manufacturing.

Pay: Rs50,000.00 - Rs80,000.00 per month
