Assistant Production Manager- Plastic industry experienced

Job Purpose:

To support the Production Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations on the shop floor within the plastic manufacturing unit. This role ensures production targets are met while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency standards. The Assistant Production Manager plays a key role in managing workforce, monitoring machine performance, and optimizing plastic processing operations such as injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, or thermoforming.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and scheduling daily production activities to meet demand and delivery deadlines.
• Supervise production processes including molding, extrusion, or other plastic conversion methods.
• Monitor machine performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with maintenance for timely repairs.
• Ensure production is carried out efficiently, on time, within budget, and to standard.
• Enforce safety and quality compliance on the production floor.
• Work closely with the Quality Control team to identify defects and implement corrective measures.
• Lead and motivate line staff, including machine operators, helpers, and supervisors.
• Monitor raw material usage and coordinate with inventory teams to ensure material availability.
• Prepare daily production reports and assist in data analysis for process improvement.
• Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to minimize waste and enhance productivity.
• Assist in training new production staff and upskilling existing team members.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Industrial Production, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in a plastic manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of plastic processing techniques (injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, etc.).
• Familiarity with production planning tools and ERP systems.
• Good leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

Working Conditions:

• Factory floor environment with exposure to machinery, heat, and noise.
• May involve shift work, weekends, and overtime depending on production demands.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED3,500.00 per month
