Assistant Purchasing Manager

Role & responsibilities:

• Implement best practice of purchasing, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance.
• Ensure and align with business objectives, operational needs, and market competitiveness.
• Manage supplier selection and evaluation processes, including terms and conditions, supplier rationalization, and purchasing solutions.
• Mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities through proactive evaluation of business challenges.
• To follow the purchasing policy, guidelines, and associated documents.
• Initiate and innovate procurement processes, including eProcurement of steel and other consumables.
• Have considerable knowledge of Sourcing of Steel (Plates, Sheets, Sections) and various other associated sourcing of heavy engineering consumables.
• Have a track record of exceptional collaborative relationships with suppliers, contractors and colleagues.

Desired Qualification & Experience:

• B. Tech/ B.E. in Mechanical engineer with over 5-10 years of work experience in procurement, logistics and exports in a manufacturing industry.
• Experience in Freight Car Manufacturing/ Wagon Industry is necessary.
• MBA (Full Time) in supply chain management is desirable.
• In addition to good knowledge of English, we also look for skills such as technical curiosity, creativity, innovation, initiative, communication, leadership and the ability to work with others.
• 5-10 Years of experience of Freight Car Manufacturing/ Wagon Industry is necessary.
